Title : Mike Dillard is Right. Create MLM leads the right way.
I have been getting Mike Dillards’ (of Magnetic and Traffic Formula fame) stuff for many years now. I have recieved most of his programs.
He sent an email today that really hit it home for me. My experience in MLM and online marketing suggest that it is VERY DOABLE for people that really put their mind to it.
The problem is that people just don’t work at it. So far in my experience, I would have to agree with Mike Dillard.
His “attraction marketing” concept really turns the business “upside down” from the marketing perspective and really is the “only” way to build a business online
Attraction marketing suggest that anyone can be an expert in a topic, and that people will naturally be attracted to the Expert. There are many reasons why this work, most of the physcological that I won’t get into now, but let’s just say that it does work.
After studying and implementing this strategy for some time, I have to say that I am starting to see more clearly exactly what Mike Dillard is talking about.
I’ll show you a few things that don’t work and why. (Now when I say something doesn’t work, that doesn’t mean that it never works. I use words like never, and everyone; don’t necessarily mean never and everyone… but you get the idea) Interesting thing is, even if you do the wrong thing long enough, you will get some results……. I just wanted to point out fundamentally why they don’t work…
Traffic Exchanges
I have two main complaints about traffic exchanges. Everyone there is playing a game of “My MLM is better than your MLM” The reason that they are on the exchange is to get people to look at their opportunity. Usually not to “buy” someone else’s opportunity
The second complaint I have about traffic exchanges is that it requires virtually no intelligence to click. There is no “brains” in putting up your opportunity, there is no way to show yourself as a highly skilled knowledgeable expert…(no expert 6 figure earners I know use traffic exchanges)
Do you want to hang out all day with a bunch of people that are just sitting in front of their computer clicking trying to get credit so you will look at your page? Over the years I have sponsored a few of these people… and determined, I don’t want those type in my business anyway.? Take it even one step further… Why are they spending time to do that? Because they have no committment to really learn how to market properly and be successful.
After making that statement, I can hear the whining begin…. But Keith.. I don’t have any time or money to really learn how to market…. My response would be ok… Then you get to stay where you are in your development as an online marketer. Continue to be a hobbyist… they will never make true wealth there.
Are you showing yourself as an Expert by begin involved with a traffic exchange? NO.
Even if you do sponsor a few people through a traffic exchange, is that the be all end all of your strategy? Is that how you want them to promote their opportunity?.
Company Replicated Websites.
My 2nd gripe is about company replicated Websites. I see people promoting their websites through a traffic exchange and I know that I’m dealing with total amature. After all we know that 97% of all MLM’ers fail… If you really want to be branded as the expert, you have to come off as aleader, a winner, a top notch performer. Your company replicated website is not an expert.. That strategy just won’t fly. Again the reason is that their is no skill, ability or “expertise” in getting your companies’ replicated site onto the internet
Of course there is a time and place for your company replicated website, but as a primary promotion tool, it just won’t work. You’re website is like hundreds if not thousands of others… As a side note, search engines don’t like company replicated websites because of the duplicate content.

Purchasing “opportunity seekers”
I’ve spent thousands buying leads. I have had a little success in buying leads, but it really just doesn’t work. Many thoughts come in my into my mind about buying leads. For me those questions are… How many times is this lead being sold? How was it produced? Is the lead a real lead, or are they just “surfing”?. Is the lead incentivized? Did the lead even put accurate information into the form? How can you prove that it is accurate if the person never responds?
These are a few of the problems that I see with buying leads.
Do it yourself.
Mike Dillard suggests that there really is no shortcut. You have to put in the work to show yourself as an leader. In order to have the things that succesful online marketers have you must do what they have done.
Are you serious? Are you really ready to embark on a learning curve and implement what you learn?

I now consider myself an internet marketing expert. The only time I really had any success online with MLM was when I was being “given” quality leads
Ever since then I have been trying to bring my business onto the internet, and only recently have had success.
I had to “grow up” and start taking my business seriously if I wanted to make some money at it.
This article is about what I learned during that time. Hopefully you can take it and learn to create your own MLM lead generation machine. We want to have as many MLM leads for our program as we need. Once we know how how to create the leads… then the rest we can figure out later… Here is where I went wrong…
1. I was doing it backwards..
I was naively hopingthat the systemwas going to “sell itself”.. This was the biggest mistake in my thinking. I had the mistaken idea that If I just told enough people about my program, thenenough people would sign up to really get it worthwhile.
The probem was not with the company I was with… The problem was that I did not “add value” to the company. There was nothing special about me that would cause anyone to join with me, instead of with another person. Why should they want to come in with me? Just because I was pestering them? Anyone that joined because I pestered them so much wasn’t a very good canidate in the first place.
There had to be a compelling reason above and beyond the company itself why someone would want to join with me.
2. I learned to turn the marketing cycle “right side up”.
Another main thing that I was doing wrong was I was “pushing” myself, my company, and the opportunity. By pushing I mean being obknoxsious, talking about my company with every word, spending every waking monment trying to recruit, and basically being a pest… both online and offline. I also thought that If I just injected myself (or my link, or my company) into every possible avenue both online and offline, that would gain me the exposure that I needed to grow my businesss. Wrong answer…

(As a side note… don’t every just post your links all over the place… especially on social networking sites… No one cares about your links… If you have something that is unique and valueable that you created…, people like that..)
The online top earning guys were “attracting” people to themselves. I liked that idea. Instead of “pushing” ( or sometimes called “puking”) there opportunity onto people, people were actually seeking them out wanting to work with them.
Would it really be possible to create a “passive” stream of mlm leads?
3. Attraction Marketing
Then I started to Study a concept by Mike Dillard called Attraction Marketing. This was totally foriegn to me andat first and I didn’t “get it” The basic premise was that if you could show yourself as an expert or a leader in a particular field then people would want to be around you and would want to work with you.
How would I become a leader?… Who would think I was some sort of expert? How could I do that anyway?
4. Content Marketing
I realized that it was just learning enough about a concept to be able to provide some good information to others. For example… I know a little about content marketing, andcreating online MLM leads, that is why you’re here.
At first I didn’t feel confident enoughto share with others… The fact of the matter is just about everyone is an expert on something. Usually we like to talk about the things that we are passionate about..
By creating good content, I was able to show people that I could add value. This in turn, creates a trust between the reader and myself. This is the foundation to ultimately working together and recruiting plenty of people into my business.
This “model” works for everyone all the time… All you have to do is implement it..

Getting the stress out of our business is important, so how do we promote our business without stress. Well the key to building any business is to use a system that works on auto pilot and will produces duplications in your business. Getting MLM leads is what is producing stress for most network markerters. First if you are promoting online just stop, don’t push your primary company. You are wasting your time ( more stress). So don’t do it. Promote yourself as a leader and help people build their business. This is attraction marketing at its best. Recommend a system that people can use that will help them achieve the success they are looking for. By now, if you’re involved with MLM, you know that the hardest part of running a home based business is lead generation. It is this aspect that sinks most people. It is not being able to do this fast enough, or efficiently enough, or affordably enough that causes 97% of MLMers to have their businesses fail.
The reason that lead generation is so hard for most people is that the cream of the MLMer crop aren’t telling you the whole story. They come up with system after system, but those systems never tell you all that you need to know for your home based business. There’s plenty of knowledge missing from their “systems”.
*You don’t get taught how to target the right prospects. You are forced to figure it out slowly or use blanket-marketing techniques that just aren’t nearly efficient enough.
*Your system under them cannot be customized. You really are marketing them–not yourself, as you have to for success. You must be able to brand and promote yourself as “the business”.
*How do you build your lead list in the first place?

It promises to help you think FASTER and SHARPER.
It says it can grant you LIMITLESS ENERGY, help you to think like a GENIUS, and enable you to RELEASE all stresses and tension.
I’m talking, naturally, about the latest self-development tool to hit the shelves.
It’s called the Brain Evolution System – a six-level meditation program that uses special sounds to help influence brainwaves.
Now, in the self-development world, everybody knows that meditation is GOOD.
It can bring a million untold benefits. And yet how many of us truly have time to quieten our minds for hours on end each day?
Well, that’s where the Brain Evolution System comes in.
The Brain Evolution System – or BrainEv, for short – uses something known as “brainwave entrainment” to help skip years of unnecessary meditation.

Well, to put it to the test – I decided to try it myself for two whole months!

Now, before even using the program, I was impressed at the integrity of the company. I was immediately given a free 21-day trial of level one, with an option to cancel before I was billed a single cent.
So, I tried it out.
The first level can only be described as a true soundscape. With it’s natural, “distant” etheric feel, you could tell a million things were going on in the background – yet couldn’t help but just relax and let them float by.
Now, I’ve listened to a lot of relaxation music – so I’m used to trickling waterfalls and singing bowls. But this audio was genuinely POWERFUL. You could feel it working, influencing your brainwaves, and helping you to relax further.
It’s recommended you listen to each 30-minute level once per day, six days a week, for a whole month. Then you move onto the next level – finishing all six levels within six months.
Well, after my first listening session, I instantly felt more relaxed. My head was less “foggy” – and I enjoyed a focus and clarity I’d not experienced in quite some time. It’s hard to explain, however I had a smile on my face – and didn’t really know why!
I continued throughout the first month – and saw a truly noticeable difference in my behavior. I became more and more relaxed and calm. My brain seemed to operate faster, and I became more quick-witted. My confidence continued to improve, without any real effort.
Then, near the end of the first month, the full CD package landed at my door.
